ConvertPort is a free online image converter that lets you convert images between popular formats like JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, and GIF. Whether you need to convert a photo for web use, reduce file size, or switch to a format with transparency support, ConvertPort handles it instantly in your browser — no software downloads, no account registration, and no hidden fees.

Our image converter is built for speed and simplicity. Upload one or up to five images at once, choose your output format, and download the converted files within seconds. Three simple steps

Converting images with ConvertPort takes just three simple steps. First, drag and drop your JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, or GIF image files into the upload area or click to browse your device. Second, select the output format you need — JPG for photos, PNG for graphics with transparency, WebP or AVIF for modern web optimization, or TIFF and GIF when your workflow requires them. Third, click convert and download your new files. The entire process happens in your browser and works on desktop computers, tablets, and mobile phones.

Why Use an Online Image Converter?

Online image converters save time compared to desktop software. There is nothing to install or update, and you can convert images from any device with an internet connection. ConvertPort supports files up to 10 MB each, making it suitable for most everyday images including website photos, social media graphics, and presentation assets.

Converting JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, and GIF images helps you optimize files for different use cases. JPG offers small file sizes ideal for photographs. PNG preserves sharp edges and supports transparent backgrounds, perfect for logos and icons. WebP and AVIF combine excellent compression and quality, while HEIC uploads can be converted into formats that are easier to share across the modern web.

    Supported image formats

ConvertPort supports conversion between JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, and GIF. Upload any supported format and convert to the output format that fits your workflow.

    JPG

JPEG (JPG) is the most widely used image format for photographs and web images. It uses lossy compression to produce small file sizes while maintaining acceptable visual quality, making it ideal for photos shared online, via email, or on social media.

    PNG

PNG (Portable Network Graphics) uses lossless compression and supports transparency with an alpha channel. It is the preferred format for logos, icons, screenshots, and graphics where sharp edges and transparent backgrounds are essential.

    WebP

WebP is a modern image format developed by Google that provides superior lossless and lossy compression. It supports transparency and animation, and typically produces files 25–35% smaller than JPEG or PNG at equivalent quality.

    HEIC

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhones and many modern cameras. It uses advanced compression to store high-quality images in smaller files than JPEG, but is not widely supported on older devices and websites — converting to JPG, PNG, or WebP makes sharing easier.

    AVIF

AVIF (AV1 Image File Format) is a modern image format that delivers excellent compression and quality. It is ideal for web photos when you need smaller files than JPEG or WebP with broad browser support.

    TIFF

TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is widely used in scanning, print, and archival workflows. It preserves high image fidelity and converts well to JPG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF for web publishing.

    GIF

GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) supports simple graphics and short animations with a 256-color palette. Convert static GIFs to PNG or WebP for smaller files, or export to JPG for photographic content.

    Your data security and privacy

ConvertPort is designed with privacy first. When you upload images for conversion, your files are handled securely and are never stored permanently on our servers.

    How we protect your uploads

    • All transfers use HTTPS/TLS encryption, so your images are encrypted in transit between your browser and our servers.
    • Files are uploaded directly to private cloud storage via time-limited presigned URLs that expire after 15 minutes — no public links are ever created.
    • Uploaded files and converted results are automatically deleted within 48 hours. Download links expire after 24 hours.
    • Only validated image formats (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, and GIF) are accepted. File type is verified by MIME type and content inspection, not just the file extension.
    • Rate limiting prevents abuse. Security headers including Content Security Policy (CSP) protect against common web attacks.
    • We do not sell, share, or use your images for training or any purpose other than completing your conversion request.

    Data retention policy

Uploaded source images and converted output files are automatically removed from our systems within 48 hours of upload. Job metadata is purged on the same schedule via database TTL. We do not maintain an archive of your files.
